Dear First Family and Friends,

Recently I was given a Ministry Calendar that shares all the special days and festivals of Israel. The months of September and October hold some special days for Israel and for Christian Gentiles. September 12, Israel celebrated its New Year. On September 21, Israel celebrated Yom Kippur or as we know it, Day of Atonement. It is the holiest and most solemn day of the year in Judaism. Designed for atonement and repentance, believers seek forgiveness for sins and reconciliation with God and fellow humans. This is the one time when God would allow the High Priest to enter the Holy of Holies, not without blood, to sprinkle the mercy seat asking for God’s forgiveness.

Jesus Christ fulfills the requirement of atonement, shedding His blood on the Mercy Seat of God making a way for individuals to receive God’s forgiveness. According to Hebrews, Christ entered the Holy of Holies once for all to atone for our sin. He reconciles us to God by His sacrifice. Look back at your calendar of events on September 21st. Say a prayer of thanksgiving for what God did for you.

Keeping the Main Thing, the main thing,

Pastor Robb
